Le point de départ de ce travail était le projet de fin d’étude : "Étude acoustique des salles de classe voûtées dans le Bâtiment Sabatini de l'Université Carlos III de Madrid", réalisé par Manuel Vázquez Rosado ; dans lequel sont analysées les conditions acoustiques de 20 salles de classe situées dans le bâtiment susmentionné. Le Bâtiment Sabatini appartient à l’École Polytechnique Supérieure de l'Université Carlos III de Madrid, située dans la commune madrilène de Leganés.

Les salles de classe étudiées sont rectangulaires, mais leurs plafonds ont une caractéristique architecturale très particulière : elles sont en forme de voûte en berceau, un aspect qui nuit grandement aux conditions acoustiques des espaces.

Ce type de géométries provoque des concentrations sonores indésirables à des points spécifiques des enceintes.

Les plafonds voûtés, ainsi que l’absence d’absorption acoustique de leurs surfaces, entraînent des temps de réverbération très élevés et une faible intelligibilité du dialogue.

Les salles de classe doivent permettre aux élèves de recevoir le message des enseignants de manière claire et compréhensible. Une enceinte qui ne remplit pas ces conditions, nuira à la performance des étudiants.

Acústica Integral a réussi à être l’adjudicataire du concours présenté par l’Université Carlos III de Leganés.

La proposition de traitement acoustique de ce projet est basée sur l’intégration d’îlots acoustiques Acustiart sous les plafonds voûtés. Les îlots absorbants ont été installés au moyen d’assemblages de câbles en acier. Ce système permet de minimiser les travaux auxiliaires, ce qui réduit considérablement les temps de montage.

Pour créer les lignes de support principales, des câbles d’acier ont été installés entre les parois latérales des salles de classe. À partir de ces lignes, les îlots acoustiques ont été suspendus, à l’aide du système de câbles en acier réglable en hauteur Acustiart  fixing kit.

Ce concept de traitement acoustique permet de maintenir l’éclairage existant sans avoir à le modifier.

Une installation propre, sans travaux gênants et avec des temps d’installation très courts.

L’emplacement des panneaux sur la partie inférieure des voûtes a permis de corriger les défauts de confort acoustique générés par ce type de géométries.

Le résultat acoustique obtenu était excellent, ce qui permettra aux étudiants de bénéficier d’une formation dans des conditions acoustiques optimales.
